We’re pleased to welcome Erin Beagle, Executive Director of Roots Community Food Centre (formerly Roots to Harvest), as our guest speaker. What began with a simple idea of using food to create opportunities for young people has grown into something much bigger. Today, Roots uses food as a way to bring people together, build skills, create meaningful employment and make good food more accessible, while ensuring dignity and belonging always have a place at the table. Erin has been part of that journey from the beginning, helping Roots grow from its early youth-focused work into Northern Ontario’s first Community Food Centre, serving youth, seniors, Elders, newcomers and neighbours from across Thunder Bay. |

Here's an opportunity to see firsthand what we've been collecting through our Rotary Litter Trap Project!
Join us Thursday, October 8th at 2:00 p.m. at the public boat launch at the Marina as Kennedy Bucci from EcoSuperior shares some interesting findings about what our litter traps have captured in local storm drains this year, along with what's next for the project.
This gathering marks the wrap-up of Lakehead Rotary's involvement in the project before our final report is submitted to the District Grants Committee. It's a wonderful opportunity to see the impact of our efforts, learn more about keeping our waterways clean, and capture a few great photos along the way!
We'd love to see some Rotary faces there! If you're available to attend, please let Marg know.
